COMEDK Under-Graduate Entrance Test-2009 (COMEDK UGET-2009) For MBBS, BDS, BE & B. Arch. Admissions In Karnataka
The Karnataka Private Medical & Dental Colleges Association, and Karnataka Unaided Private Engineering Colleges Association in their endeavour to offer an effective, fair and objective testing procedure to determine merit of students seeking admissions to the Member Institutions, have formed "Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka” COMEDK, COMEDK has been assigned the task of organising a Common Entrance Test for the academic year 2009-2010, for candidates aspiring to pursue Under Graduate courses Medical and Engineering Colleges in the State of Karnataka, in member institutions of the Consortium (Medical and Engineering Colleges).
In accordance with the consensual agreement between the Government of Karnataka and Karnataka Private Medical and Dental Colleges Association (KPMDCA) this year 2009-2010 for admission to BDS there will be no Common Entrance Test. However centralised counseling will be conducted based on rank list prepared. Rank list will be on the basis of aggregate marks of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) in the qualifying examination (2nd PUC/12th Standard or any other equivalent examination recognized by State / Central Government).

Application Forms:
- Online submission can be done on www.comedk.org from 09.03.2008 to 11.04.2009. Last date for the receipt of applications is 18.04.2009.
Eligbility:
- MBBS:
General Merit Candidates should have passed the qualifying examination which is 2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent examination, recognized by State / Central Government. The last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) with English as a compulsory subject and must have passed these subjects individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks taken together in PCB. In addition, in the Common Entrance Test, must have secured not less than 50% marks in PCB.
SC, ST and OBC Candidates of Karnataka should have passed the qualifying examination which is 2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent examination, recognized by State / Central Government. The last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) with English as a compulsory subject and must have passed these subjects individually and must have obtained a minimum of 40% of marks taken together in PCB. In addition, in the Common Entrance Test, must have secured not less than 40% marks in PCB. Candidates should have attained the age of 17 years as on31/12/2008.
- BDS:
General Merit candidates should have passed qualifying exam which is 2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent exam recognized by State / Central Government. The last two years study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) with English as a compulsory subject must have passed the subject and individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks taken together in PCB. Candidates should have attained the age of 17 years as on 31/12/2008. There is no Common Entrance Test for admission during the year 2009-2010.
SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka a minimum of 40% of marks taken together in PCB. All other requirements are same as applicable for General Merit candidates.
- B.E:
General Merit Candidates, the minimum qualification for admission is a pass in the 2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent qualifying Examination recognized by State / Central Government with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM). Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Biotechnology or Computer Science or Biology or Electronics as one of the optional subjects. English as one of the language of study is compulsory. There is no minimum mark fixed for entrance test. Hence all candidates who have taken the entrance test will find a place in the merit list as per their performance.
SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka the aggregate marks in PCM should be not less than 40% in the qualifying examination as mentioned above.

B. Arch:
A candidate who has passed the qualifying examination (2nd PUC or 10+2 higher secondary or equivalent examination) with Mathematics as one of the subjects along with other subjects or a 10+3 Diploma recognized by Central / State Government and having obtained at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks in case of SC/ST and OBC Candidates of Karnataka). Further the candidate should have appeared for National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by Council of Architecture with a minimum score of 80 out of 200 for both general merit and category candidates.
The completed application form should be sent so as to reach the addressee on or before 11.04.2009.
