Veterinary varsity will be raised to global status: Divakaran
Pookode (Wayanad): Minister for Animal Husbandry C. Divakaran has said that the proposed Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University will be raised to the status of an international university.
Delivering the presidential address at the foundation stone laying ceremony for the university at the Veterinary College Auditorium here on Monday, Mr. Divakaran said that veterinary and animal related sciences had witnessed incredible changes globally. The Minister said the government intended to make the university production-oriented, so that it would help the State achieve self sufficiency in food production. Moreover, the university would act as an international centre for animal science by interacting with similar institutions around the world to impart latest technologies to students, researchers and farmers, Mr. Divakaran said.
