JSS University signs MoU with Australian varsity
It seeks to promote exchange programmes and extend cooperation in research and development
- Each university to appoint a person in charge
of day-to-day operations of the programme
- MoU will be effective for five years

Mysore: In line with its stated mission to “nurture and develop talents of students and to create applicable knowledge to support social and economic advancement”, the JSS University has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with La Trobe University, Australia.
The MoU was signed here on Tuesday by B. Suresh, Vice-Chancellor, JSS University, and Brian MacGaw, Dean, La Trobe University. The MoU seeks to promote exchange programmes and extend cooperation in research, development of new areas of research, sharing and dissemination of information, and documentation in areas of mutual interest.
The two universities also agreed to facilitate the exchange of, and cooperation between their staff in research, publication, teaching, supervision and examination of students, etc. To ensure that the spirit of the MoU is followed, each university will appoint a person to be in charge of the day-to-day operations of the programme.
Duration
The MoU will be effective for five years and take up student-exchange programmes.
The university has signed memorandums of understanding for enhancing its research activities and nurturing quality education with international institutions across the world, including Alfagene Bio Science, New Jersey, USA, for cooperation in the field of medical biotechnology and stem cell research; University of Illinois, Chicago, for promoting research and cooperation in the field of health science and clinical pharmacy; and the Government of France for establishment of Centre for Water Health, among others.
