Rs. 53 crore set aside for Hassan Veterinary College: Belamagi
Hassan: Minister for Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences Revu Naik Belamagi said the Government had handed over 76 acres to the Hassan Veterinary College and Rs. 53 crore had been set aside for its development, including construction of the college building.
This year, Rs. 23 crore has been released for the construction of the building, he said. At least 12 people were transferred from Bangalore, he said, addressing presspersons at the college premises on Tuesday. Mr. Belamagi said there was a shortage of 972 veterinary doctors in the State and that recruitment to 487 posts was in progressAction would be taken by month-end against the Vice-Chancellor of the Veterinary University of Bidar if he was proved to be involved in any irregularity.
