Comed-K extends date for UGET
Bangalore: Professional college seat aspirants can breathe easy. The last date for applying for admissions to private professional colleges in the State, through the Under Graduate Entrance Test conducted by the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental colleges of Karnataka, has been extended from April 10 to April 17.
This year, the admission process for the CET and the UGET had been delayed.
This was because of the commotion created by the State Government's proposal to have a single-window admission process, which resulted in disagreement between private engineering colleges.
While the engineering college admission deadlock was resolved in early March, the Department of Medical Education did not finalise the fees and seat matrix till two days ago.
“All this has created confusion. It is doubly critical for private colleges because we cater to students from across the country. Outstation students cannot be intimated at the drop of a hat, so we have to give them time,” a Comed-k official said.
The Karnataka Private Medical and Dental Colleges Association along with Karnataka Unaided Private Engineering College Association announced this decision on its website on Saturday.
The decision takes into account the fact that the CBSE and ISC examinations were still on.
