NAAC gives ‘A' grade tag to KLE University
Belgaum: The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has accredited the city- based KLE University with “A” grade.
In a press release issued here on Monday, university registrar P.F. Kotur said the peer team of NAAC visited the university in November last and inspected the infrastructure and quality of education being imparted in its constituent institutions.
The team appreciated the standards maintained by the university in its Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Vishwanath Katti Institute of Dental Sciences, both in Belgaum city.
He recalled that in April 2006, the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development and the University Grants Commission granted deemed status to the university, which was formerly known as KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research.
The university, within a short span of three-and-a-half years, earned international recognition as was evident from its 14 international collaborations in the fields of academics and research.
Now, KLE University has the unique distinction of having the only medical college in the State with an “A” grade accreditation by NAAC.
On the occasion, Chancellor Prabhakar B. Kore and Vice-Chancellor C.K. Kokate congratulated all the faculty and staff members and students of the university for their valuable contribution and cooperation extended during the visit of the peer team of NAAC.
