Three-day tech festival begins
making a point:Minister for Water Resources Basavaraj Bommai at the inauguration
Hubli: Minister for Water Resources Basavaraj Bommai inaugurated “Pleiades-2010”, a three-day national-level technical festival hosted by B.V. Bhoomaraddi College of Engineering and Technology, here on Thursday.
Mr. Bommai called upon the participants to make the best use of the opportunity made available to them and face challenges head on.
The Minister said that India, with its rich cultural heritage, had a vast talent pool. “But the talent pool has to be made use of to face challenges in the field of information technology,” he said.
“If you have knowledge, you can mobilise resources to take up new initiatives,” he told the students. H.U. Talwar, Director of Technical Education, and Ashok Shettar, college principal, were among those present.
Around 2,000 students from 45 engineering colleges from across the country are participating in the tech festival. A total of 38 events pertaining to all branches of engineering and management are being held during the festival.
