Students hit the road
For a cause:Students participating in a peace run in Mysore on Wednesday.
Mysore: Morning walkers got a surprise here on Wednesday when over 3,000 students and teachers of the institutions run by the Vidya Vikas Educational Trust (VVET) hit the road to spread the message of peace and harmony.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) B.R. Ravikanthe Gowda flagged off the peace run on the Kote Anjaneyaswamy temple premises in front of the Mysore Palace.
The event was organised to mark the 13th anniversary of the institution.
School and college students ran holding placards with messages in Kannada and English. They also raised slogans against terrorist activities and called for peace in the world
The run concluded at Vidya Vikas Institute of Engineering and Technology on Bannur Road, after touching Hardinge Circle, Police Commissioner's office and Mysore Dairy.
