Hubli: Here is good news for students of north Karnataka, especially those from professional colleges. Although academically good, they often face problems with regard to communication and in developing the right attitude while facing interviews. Now, they can hope to face interviews without hesitation as they will be given training by experts.
Multinational company Cognizant Solutions, headquartered at New Jersey, U.S., which plans to pick talented youth from north Karnataka, will conduct training-cum-reorientation programmes for students in partnership with Micro Academy.
Cognizant organised a meeting of placement officers from all major engineering colleges in the region in this regard at the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) campus here recently.
Bharatkumar Bheemappa, Senior Architect for Cognizant, said Micro Academy would train students who passed written tests prior to facing interviews. The participants in the meeting felt that such an initiative would go a long way in increasing the number of successful candidates from the region.
Addressing the gathering later, Chief Executive Officer of Sankalp Semiconductors Vivek Pawar said the volume of embedded hardware and software solutions by Indian companies would ‘explode' in the near future as the business had moved from the metros to tier-2 cities. He asked the placement officers to guide the students on equipping themselves with proper training and skills for the future. Resident Director of IIT-HD, B.L. Desai, and the Vice-Principal of BVB College of Engineering and Technology presided over the meeting.
