Train students to face competition at global level

Shimoga : Chairman of the PES Group of Institutions M.R. Doreswamy, MLC, said here on Tuesday that there was a need to train students at primary and secondary levels itself to face competition at the global level with confidence.

He told presspersons here that it was also equally important to reorient teachers to help train students in this regard. There was scope for incorporating some changes in the curriculum of schools affiliated to CBSE to make education at primary and secondary levels more relevant, he said. Value-based education would be imparted in the two schools opened by the PES group — at Shimoga and Shikaripur, Mr. Doreswamy.
Chairman of the National Education Trust, Bangalore, K.P. Gopalakrishna said that if elementary education had failed in India, it was because it had not gone beyond curriculum.

Member of the advisory committee and chairman of Kittur Rani Chennamma Residential School Mahendra Kanthi spoke.
