Law results announced in record time
Karnataka State Law University (KSLU) has announced the results of the first examination (LL.B First Semester) conducted by it, in a record time of 20 days.
The results were announced on Friday and also uploaded on the official website of the university, www.kslu.ac.in.
The university has made arrangements for the students and their parents to get the results on cellphones through SMS.
They have to type KSLU followed by a space and their 11-digit registration number and then send it to 5676729. The result would be sent to them by SMS.
Karnataka State Law University Vice-Chancellor J.S. Patil and Registrar (Evaluation) Suresh Nadagoudar told presspersons here that 6.77 per cent of the students had passed in the examination held for the first semester of the three-year LL.B course, which was conducted in January.
He said that 4,483 students had registered for the examination. Of these, 3,705 students had appeared for the examination, and 251 students had passed. While seven students had obtained first class, 53 cleared the examination with second class, and 191 candidates obtained pass class.
The results of 18 students had been withheld for various reasons. Prof. Patil said Ashok Johnson Rodrigues of SDM College of Law, Mangalore, had emerged the top scorer in the examination with 65.40 per cent marks.
Of the top 10 students, seven were from colleges in Bangalore, two from Mangalore and one from Bellary.
He clarified that the results should not be considered the lowest.
“Usually results in law colleges range between 13 per cent to 15 per cent and at times a maximum of 20 per cent. But there would be many repeaters appearing for the examination. In this case it is only freshers who have appeared for the examination and we have conducted a foolproof examination and evaluation,” the Vice-Chancellor said.
