Symposium on women achievers
- It will be held on January 13
- Venue is Ambedkar auditorium
Bijapur: The Karnataka State Women’s University (KSWU) has organised an international symposium on ‘Women achievers’ on January 13 at the B.R. Ambedkar auditorium at its old campus here. The symposium will be inaugurated by former Minister Leeladevi R. Prasad.
In a press release, KSWU Vice-Chancellor Geeta Bali has said the symposium would throw light on the contribution of women at the national and international levels. More than 300 delegates from different parts of the country are expected to take part. Historian from Germany Albert Franz will deliver a lecture on ‘Great woman — Pauline B. Mogling’. Ms. Prasad will speak on ‘Contribution of Akkamahadevi to Kannada literature’ while KSWU Women’s Study Centre chairman M.B. Dilshad will speak on ‘Chand Bibi – A great administrator’.
Karnatak University professor R.M. Shadaksharaiah will present a paper on ‘Kittur Rani Chennama – First woman freedom fighter’, while Hubli’s Nehru College English Department head Dr. Das will speak on ‘Mother Teresa’. S.B. Nadgouda, head of the English Department at the KLE Society’s P.C. Jabin College will speak on ‘Freedom Fighter Annie Besant’.
