B.A., B.Com exams begin amidst tight security
B.A. and B.Com examinations began at the Maharaja's College, affiliated to the University of Mysore, amidst tight police security here on Wednesday following a protest on Tuesday against the non-issue of examination hall tickets to students with attendance shortage. A student's suicide, reportedly because he had not been issued his hall ticket, triggered the protest. The protest turned violent and police had to resort to mild lathi-charge to disperse the agitating students.

Centre plans to up intake of seats in all medical colleges
